ARTEXPRESS is an annual exhibition of exemplary artworks created by students for the HSC in Visual Arts. Mia with be showcased as part of Artexpress in the Mudgee Arts Precinct (MAP). Seth’s artwork will feature in the Hawkesbury Regional Art Gallery in 2023.

Seth de Leon’s artwork Kimochi, comprised of two Paintings. The Japanese word “Kimochi” means a “feeling”, one that is brought on by stimulation and is something of a non-persisting state of feeling. His artwork was inspired by photo realism and explores his interest in the urban sprawl of Tokyo under day and moonlight hours.

Mia Kobus created Visiting Bà, a series of drawings and assemblages exploring her personal relationship and connection with her grandmother, Bà, who passed away when she was four. The delicate small-scale portraits depict aspects of her life; family trauma, schizophrenia, and living with uncurable cancer; the act of continuing to live knowing you are dying. Botanical illustrations are used to juxtapose themes of the fragility or life and death.
