Music, Dance and Drama in our amazing Performing Arts space

Vibrant and active.

That's how we describe the program in our amazing performing arts centre.

Music

Penrith Anglican College recognises the research describing Music as playing an essential part in the cognitive development of students; particularly in the social/emotional, fine motor, mathematical and linguistic domains. Music plays a vital role in the development of the whole student. Apart from that, Music is a core expression of the human race through history and the making of it engaging and enjoyable!

Year 7 and 8 Music are mandatory courses focussing on performance, composition and listening. Students may then choose to study Music in Years 9 and 10, and through to the HSC. In the elective courses, students choose their performance focus (instrument/voice) and further develop skills in composition, musicology and aural skills.

Drama

Students at Penrith Anglican College have a range of Drama opportunities in which to participate.

Drama classes are offered as an elective in Years 9 and 10, and then through to HSC. These classes explore a range of dramatic styles through activities in performing, making and appreciating.

Dance

Held in our dedicated dance studio in the Performing Arts Centre, Dance classes are offered as an elective in Years 9 and 10, and then through to HSC (dependent on numbers). These classes explore a range of dance styles through performance, composition and appreciation. Safe practice and core strength are also important aspects of these courses.
